In this article, we will be showing you how to find Facebook pages & groups by Location and how to find and filter members of Facebook groups by Location.
How to find Facebook Pages and Groups by Location?
To find Facebook groups and pages by Location, you would need to filter out your search results by typing in the name of the location you would want to be searched.
To do this, you would need to tap on the search icon of your Facebook app and type in the keyword of group/page you are looking for.
After the initial search results appear, tap on “Groups” or “Pages” below the search bar.
Once you have picked a search category, tap on the search options to filter your search results.
Afterward, tap on “Locations” in the search options menu and type in the name of the location you want your results to be in.
After typing in the Location, tap on “Show Results” in the search options menu to apply the filter and refresh the search results.
Doing this will show you pages/groups that have the Location in their description or are based there.
Below is a step-by-step guide on how to find Facebook pages and groups by Location
1. Tap on the Search Icon
On the Facebook app homepage, tap on the search button found in the upper right corner of the app. Before you can find a group/page by Location, you must first input the type of group/page you are searching for.
The initial results will have various results ranging from Facebook posts, groups, and pages. It will also show the most popular and relevant result based on the keyword you entered.
2. Tap on Groups/Pages in the Search Category
Before you can filter out the search results by location, you need to specify the category of the search results by pages or groups.
To do this, tap on the type of category you are searching for in the search category found directly below the search bar.
You can slide the category from left and right if you can’t find the right search category you were looking for. Doing this will filter the results by the specific category and will allow you to filter the results even further.
3. Tap on the Search Options
Once you have picked a search category, a button will appear beside the search bar in the upper right corner of the app.
Tapping on it will open the search options menu, allowing you to further filter out your search results.
It is only possible to open this menu by selecting a search category first as the initial results use the “All” category, making it difficult to use this function.
The search menu contains several options that can filter out the search results.
4. Tap on “Location”
In the search options menu, tap on “Location” to filter out results by Location.
This search option is set to “Anywhere” by default which is generalized and only shows search results that are very popular or have a big follower count.
5. Type/Select the Location
In the location tab, you can type in the name of the place/city of the location you want your results to be filtered or select the current location you are in, which will be found below the “Anywhere” option.
This option is only limited to one place at a time. If you want to have results from another location, you must follow these steps again to change the Location and results.
6. Tap on “Show Results”
After typing and confirming the Location you want your results to be filtered in, tap on “Show Results” in the search options menu to apply the search filter and refresh your search results.
Your search results will now show pages/groups based on the Location you placed. However, it should be known that this filter will only work if the page/group owner has appropriately set the Location of their respective groups/pages.
If a page/group doesn’t have the location set, you won’t be able to find them unless the place’s name is in the name of the page/group.
Alternatively, for searching pages in a specific location, a quicker method would be to just type out the location’s name together with the name of the “page” that you’re searching for. For Example: “golf clubs Florida”.
How to Search/Filter Members of a Facebook Group by Location?
If you want to filter and find members by Location of a Facebook group you are in, you can do that in the member’s list.
To open the member’s list of a group, you would first need to open the group in your Facebook app and then tap on the group’s name on the group page.
Afterward, scroll down and tap on the tab containing the number of members to access the member list.
In the member’s lists, you can filter members by typing in the location’s name in the search bar. Doing this will show you members that live in the place or have it in their Facebook bio.
Alternatively, you can scroll down the member’s list as a section will appear that will show members from the exact location you are in.
Below is a step-by-step guide on how to filter and search members of a Facebook group by Location
1. Open a Facebook Group
Facebook groups that you are a member of or have been invited to can be found in the Facebook Group tab in the Facebook app. The Facebook Group tab can be accessed by tapping on its icon found on the app.
The icon should be beside your Home/News Feed and can easily be accessed by swiping to the right. Once you are there, tap on the Facebook group you want to view the members of.
2. Tap on the Group Name
To access the member’s list of a Facebook group through the group’s news feed, tap on the group’s name found at the topmost portion of the Facebook group page.
The name should contain a gray arrow at the end to signify this.
Tapping on the name will redirect you to the group’s About section, which will show a description of the group and the house rules.
3. Tap on the Members Tab
From the about section, scroll down until you see the Members section, which will show the group’s admins and owners.
To access the member’s list, you can either tap on “See All” in the Members tab or the portion underneath the Group Activity section, which shows the total members of the group.
Tapping on either of the two will redirect you to the group’s members list.
4. Type in the name of the location in the Search Bar
Typing the name of the location in the search bar of the member list will automatically sort members based on the Location you typed in.
Similar to filtering search results, the only members who will appear in the list have their locations set.

You can tap on “See All” to view all the members in this section if you are looking for members from the same location as you are currently in.
